The general policy applies to Are You Dead?. This section covers what Are You Dead? does on top of it.

What Are You Dead? collects

You provide: your name; your emergency contacts’ names and email addresses; an emergency contact phone number (Pro subscribers only).

Collected automatically: an anonymous account identifier; check-in times and your deadline setting; a push notification token; purchase and subscription status.

Why: to remind you to check in, alert your emergency contact if you miss your deadline (by email, and by SMS for Pro subscribers), process purchases and manage subscriptions, and meet legal obligations.

Emergency contact data is used only to alert that person if you miss a check-in. We never use it for marketing or anything else, and your contact hears from us only when an alert is triggered.

Service providers

• Firebase (Google Cloud) signs you in anonymously, stores your account and check-ins, runs the deadline checks and sends push reminders (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions and Firebase Cloud Messaging).
• Resend sends email alerts to your emergency contact.
• Twilio sends SMS alerts to your emergency contact (Pro subscribers only).
• RevenueCat manages in-app purchases and subscriptions and processes transaction data to validate purchases.

Are You Dead? has no ads and no advertising or analytics trackers.

Retention

We keep your account information and check-in history while your account is active. If you delete the app or ask us to delete your account, your data is removed from our systems within 30 days. To ask, email hello@appfactoryhq.com. Purchase records are kept by RevenueCat and the app stores under their own policies.

Age

Are You Dead? is not intended for anyone under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
