The general part applies to every AppFactory app. This is the section for CoinScan.
CoinScan
The general policy applies to CoinScan. This section covers what CoinScan does on top of it.
What CoinScan collects
You provide: photos of coins you choose to scan; notes or labels you add to coins in your collection (stored only on your device).
Collected automatically: device information (model, operating system, language, region); app usage events (screens viewed, scans performed); purchase and subscription status; crash reports and diagnostics; the mobile advertising identifier, where the operating system and your settings allow it; install attribution data.
Why: to identify coins from the photos you scan, process purchases and manage subscriptions, understand how the app is used, fix crashes, measure the performance of our advertising, and meet legal obligations.
How coin scanning works: when you scan a coin, the photo is sent over a secure connection to our server, which forwards it to Google’s Gemini AI for identification. The photo is processed in real time and is not stored on our servers or retained by Google for model training. Once the result reaches your device, the image is discarded from memory. Your coin collection stays on your device.
Service providers
- Google Gemini identifies coin photos, through our server. Photos are sent for processing only and are not stored after delivery.
- RevenueCat manages in-app purchases and subscriptions and processes transaction data to validate purchases.
- Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Remote Config collect usage events and crash reports and deliver app settings, so we can understand how the app is used and fix issues.
- Advertising attribution: the Meta App Events SDK, the TikTok Events SDK and the Snapchat Conversions API measure whether an ad on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok or Snapchat led to your install, and which key events (such as a trial start or subscription) followed. Purchase events are also sent to Snapchat from our server when RevenueCat confirms a purchase. CoinScan does not show ads inside the app.
On iPhone, the app asks for permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt before it can use the advertising identifier. On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings.
Retention
Coin photos sent for identification are not kept on our servers. Your coin collection is stored only on your device and is removed when you uninstall the app. Analytics, crash, attribution and purchase data are kept by our service providers for their standard retention periods.
Age
CoinScan is not intended for anyone under 17 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 17.
