DeepSearch
The general policy applies to DeepSearch. This section covers what DeepSearch does on top of it.
What DeepSearch collects
You provide: the names you search for.
Collected automatically: device information (model, operating system, app version); app usage events (screens viewed, searches run); purchase and subscription status; the mobile advertising identifier, where the operating system and your settings allow it; install attribution data.
Why: to run your searches, process purchases and manage subscriptions, understand how the app is used, measure the performance of our advertising, and meet legal obligations.
How search works: when you search, the name is sent to Serper, a search API, to fetch publicly available web results. The name and those results then go through our server to Google’s Gemini AI to be summarised, and the summary is shown to you. Searches and results are processed on demand and are not stored on our servers. We do not keep a database of individuals or pre-compiled profiles.
Service providers
- Serper returns public web results for the names you search.
- Google Gemini summarises the results, through our server. Search data is sent for processing only.
- RevenueCat manages in-app purchases and subscriptions and processes transaction data to validate purchases.
- Firebase Analytics collects app usage events so we can see how the app is used.
- Advertising attribution: the Meta App Events SDK, the TikTok Events SDK and the Snapchat Conversions API measure whether an ad on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok or Snapchat led to your install, and which key events (such as a trial start or subscription) followed. Purchase events are also sent to Snapchat and TikTok from our server when RevenueCat confirms a purchase. DeepSearch does not show ads inside the app.
On iPhone, the app asks for permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt before it can use the advertising identifier. On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings.
Retention
Your search history (the names you have searched for) is stored only on your device and is not sent to our servers. You can delete it at any time in the app. We do not keep search results or any information about searched individuals on our servers. Analytics, attribution and purchase data are kept by our service providers for their standard retention periods.
Age
DeepSearch is not intended for anyone under 17 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 17.
